The Plum Card grants permanent residence on an approved, implemented investment. The application fee is NT$10,000.

Five-year salary relief
薪資享5年減免
Qualifying foreign specific professionals can exclude half of salary above NT$3m for five years, on application.
符合條件的外國特定專業人才，薪資超過新臺幣300萬元部分的半數，於適用的五年期間免計入所得。

For specialist families, permit-free work after permanent residence covers the spouse, children under 18 and adult children with a disability.

Investor residence and citizenship

- Investor: approval letter, company registration form, director list投資居留：核准函、公司登記表、董監事名冊
- Citizenship: application form and photographs入籍：申請書與照片
- Valid ARC or permanent resident certificate有效居留證或永久居留證
- Police record from the original country原屬國警察紀錄證明
- Language proof: a year at a Taiwan school, 200 hours of government courses, or a test score of 70語言與常識證明：就讀臺灣學校1年、政府機關課程200小時，或測試70分
- Overseas documents authenticated, with a Chinese translation海外文件經驗證，並附中文譯本
Each dependant needs their own relationship evidence, health record and police record, so start these in parallel with the main applicant.

The general option needs five years of lawful residence with at least 183 days each year, together with proof of language ability and civic knowledge. Unmarried children under 18 can apply with a parent.
一般年限為合法居留5年、每年居住至少183日，並提供語言能力與國民權利義務基本常識證明；未婚且未滿18歲的子女可隨同父或母申請。
Permit and original nationality
許可與原有國籍
Submit proof of loss of original nationality within one year, unless an exemption applies. Complete the separate residence requirements for settlement.
許可後一年內提出喪失原有國籍證明，符合豁免者另依規定；定居須另滿足居留條件。
Settlement and household registration
定居與戶籍登記
After naturalisation, count from the Taiwan-area residence permit: 1 year with 335 days, 2 years with 270 days each, or 5 years with 183 days each. Settlement: NT$600; household registration within 30 days.
自入籍後取得臺灣地區居留許可起算：一年335日，或連續兩年各270日，或連續五年各183日。定居證600元；核發後30日內設籍。
